How to add text to photos on iPhone and iOS camera rolls

Step by step guide:

  1. Press edit
  2. Then the plus sign at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Press the rectangle to create a background and move it to where you’d like the text to be.
  4. Press the colour wheel at the bottom of the screen to change the colour and the opacity.
  5. Click ‘X’ to return to the image.
  6. To fill the rectangle, press the square icon at the bottom-right of the screen, then select the solid square
  7. Press the plus sign at the bottom-right of the screen, then select text
  8. Move the text into position and type your text
  9. To change the colour of the text, press on the text to select it and then the colour wheel.
  10. To change font and the size of text, press the ‘A’ icon at the bottom-left of the screen.
  11. When you’re happy press ‘done’ at the top-right of the screen, and then ‘done’ again at the bottom-right of the screen.
  12. Your photo will now be ready to share or to use in Pages, Keynote or Notes.
